Also, coming September 8th is HSSDC's new group lessons.  Below is a brief overview of the lessons to be taught by Glenn Trinidad. 

September 8 - October 13, 2010     
6:00 pm Basic West Coast Swing
7:30 pm Intermediate WCS
Instructor Glenn Trinidad

Class format for both classes will be 1 hour of instruction followed by 1/2 hour of practice time to reinforce learning and get clarifications. 

Cost is $50.00 for 6 week session, $90.00 for both classes.
BAC member price: $45.00 for 6 week session, $80.00 for both classes.
$1.50 arts enhancement fee will be charged for each class.

6:00 to 7:30 - WCS Basics - Fundamentals and Foundations
Learn the basics of this fun and versatile club dance!  This class is for newcomers and beginners or those who want to review the basics. It will provide a natural progression of elements to simplify the learning process and prepare you for a seamless progression into your more intermediate and advanced patterns.  No partner needed as students will rotate through leaders and followers.
Topics to be covered: Timing, Counts, Movement, Basic Elements, Patterns, Footwork, Lead and Follow.

7:30 - 9:00 pm Intermediate WCS - variations and technique
Learn both simple and more intricate variations while adding new patterns, styling and improved technique to your dancing repertoire.   This is the first time Glenn will be offering his advanced WCS expertise to the intermediate WCS dancers at the BAC.  Come learn something new from one of our most fun instructors. 

About the instructor: 
Glenn loves to obtain, enjoy, and share his evolving knowledge of dance.  His background as a youth was in martial arts, athletics, and music and his formal education was in engineering, but his true interest is in the art of partnership dancing.  He is a certified Pro/Am Dancer, Instructor, and Competitor by both the National Dance Council of America (NDCA) and The Terpsichore Dance Association and has competed with students in a number of regional competitions and received guidance from top professionals in Ballroom, Latin, and Swing.

Glenn is currently a freelance independent instructor (Sierra-Nevada Dance Sport) working with Sierra Dance Center in Truckee and Starlite Dance Center in Reno .  His goals are to provide top quality group and private instruction and to share what he learns as he prepares for high level competition.
